Who are these methods suitable for?

NeuroHorizons® / NeuroScanBalance® is suitable for children and adults who wish to gently support their motor development, sensory perception, and nervous system, particularly in cases of:

  • Sleep disorders

  • Muscle tension and symptoms of stress

  • from high muscle tone to spasticity

  • Limited mobility and muscular dystrophy (including after accidents or surgeries)

  • Perceptual disorders

  • Concentration and learning difficulties

  • ADD / ADHD

  • neurological conditions (e.g., brain injuries, cerebral palsy/CP, MS)

  • genetic predispositions and developmental disorders

  • Down syndrome (Trisomy 21)

  • Consequences of birth trauma and preterm birth

  • This practice complements child therapy, developmental support, and neurological therapy in Zurich and helps children, adolescents, and adults in their daily lives.

How does this method affect the nervous system?

Gentle movement, touch, and kinesthetic experiences foster a subtle form of communication with the nervous system. New information is perceived, integrated, and stored in the brain, allowing connections to strengthen and developmental gaps to close.

During the lessons, you or your child will be guided through simpler, more efficient movement patterns. The body begins to reorganize itself:

  • Movements become clearer and easier

  • Pain can be reduced

  • Function, mobility, and coordination improve

  • body awareness becomes more refined

  • Everyday life feels safer and more manageable

In this way, the method supports the regulation of the nervous system, motor development, and sensory integration, particularly for children and adults with special needs.

Improving body awareness and promoting physical activity for children and adults in Zurich, Switzerland

The methods that focus on children with special needs are based on the movement lessons developed by Moshé Feldenkrais (1904-1984), an Israeli physicist and judo master who used scientific observations about the human nervous system.

These methods are unique and cannot be compared with other therapies, exercise systems or routines. They are structured in such a way that the brain can reorganize itself and form new patterns of sensation, thought and action.

How a Lesson Works

Each person is met where they are. That’s why the sessions vary depending on whether the participant is a child or an adult.

I watch how you move, which movements come easily to you, and where you have limitations.

I can tell whether tension or flexibility is more prominent.

With children, I observe what interests them and how they interact with their surroundings.

Building on this foundation, I begin with gentle touches and small variations in movement. The nervous system absorbs new information, expands its range of motion, and an individualized learning process becomes possible.

The quality of the "input" is more important than the quantity. To prevent the nervous system from becoming overloaded, the lesson ends once enough new information has been absorbed:

  • Children: approx. 25–35 minutes

  • Adults: approx. 45–55 minutes

Intensive Course – Focused Learning for the Nervous System

Experience has shown that an intensive course can significantly enhance the learning process.

  • Duration: 3 to 5 days

  • 2 to 3 lessons per day

  • There is a break between lessons.

After an intensive course, it is advisable to take a break of several weeks so that the nervous system can consolidate, integrate, and further develop the new information.
