"Movement and perception begin in the brain."

The brain is able to modify its structure and function based on experience, learning and environmental stimuli.

The nervous system

Our nervous system is responsible for the transmission of signals and information in the body. It consists of two main parts:

The central nervous system (CNS), which comprises the brain and the spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which runs through our entire body in small nerve tracts and transmits all the data recorded to the CNS for processing. This is divided into

1. the somatic nervous system: responsible for controlling the conscious activities of the body, such as the movement of muscles and the perception of sensory stimuli.

2. the vegetative or autonomic nervous system: controls the unconscious activities of the body, such as breathing, heartbeat, digestion and temperature regulation.

The nervous system is crucial for the coordination of all bodily functions and plays an important role in processing information and reacting to changes in the environment.
