In Zurich, families are currently waiting up to a year for a therapy spot. The *Tages-Anzeiger* has reported on this, as has the *NZZ*: a seven-month wait for a speech therapy spot, and special education in the canton is under pressure.
I offer a self-pay service. This has some drawbacks—you pay out of pocket—but it also has one major advantage: there is no waiting list, no prescription, and no referral required. You’ll usually get an appointment within two weeks.
What this means in practice
You can make the most of the waiting period instead of letting it go to waste. As soon as a publicly funded spot becomes available, you can switch at any time or use both options at the same time.
You’ll be working in parallel. Many families use the time between two occupational therapy appointments to schedule an additional session with me. I’m happy to coordinate with the treating professionals upon request.
Full attention to your development. You get undivided time—without any rigid billing structure breathing down your neck. Not just 20 minutes, but:
For children: 30 minutes. Not 20
For adults: 60 minutes. Not 20.
I’ll come to you. If getting to the office is too much of a hassle—because of your child, your daily routine, or your siblings—the session can take place in the comfort of your own home.
