Your pain is real.
It's just not where the picture is looking.
The MRI is normal. But the pain is still there.
You’re waiting at the doctor’s office. You had an MRI, and maybe an X-ray or an MRI image from Germany.
The results are normal.
And you go home feeling like they don’t quite believe you.
Why a normal test result is not contradictory.
An image shows structure: bones, intervertebral discs, tendons, tissue. Pain, however, is not a structure. Pain is an assessment made by the brain based on the information it receives from the body.
If this information is unclear, contradictory, or incomplete, the brain errs on the side of caution. Caution means: tension, a protective posture, and a warning signal—in other words, pain—even when everything is fine in the tissue.
This isn't a figment of your imagination or a psychological issue. It's a control problem.
How this changes the treatment.
If the cause isn't in the tissue, working on the tissue only helps temporarily. This explains a pattern that many of my clients are familiar with: The massage feels good—for two days. The adjustment lasts—for a week. After that, everything is back to the way it was before.
I work with the information that the brain receives—through balance, the eyes, body awareness, and targeted movement stimuli. The goal is for the nervous system to once again classify a movement as safe and to deactivate the protective response.
If this isn't right for you .
In cases of acute injuries, unexplained neurological deficits, nighttime pain at rest, fever, or unintentional weight loss, the first step is to see a doctor. I do not replace medical diagnostics—I step in where medical diagnostics have found nothing.
Let's talk—no strings attached!
