FAQ

At what age do you start working with children?

1

Starting from infancy. With babies, I work very gently and usually in the presence of their parents. There’s no upper age limit—I also work with teenagers and adults.

How much does a session cost?

2

A session for children lasts 30 minutes and costs CHF 80, while a session for adults lasts 60 minutes and costs CHF 120. The initial phone consultation, which lasts about 15 minutes, is free.

Does health insurance cover it?

3

In most cases, no. My basic insurance does not cover these services. For supplemental insurance, it depends on the method—NeuroHorizons® | NeuroScanBalance®, and Neuroathletik are not listed by EMR or ASCA. For the Franklin Method®, it’s worth checking with your insurance provider.

How many sessions are needed?

4

It’s impossible to say for sure beforehand. Some children and adults show significant changes after two or three sessions, while for others it’s a process that takes months. After three or four sessions, we’ll assess together whether this approach is working. I don’t offer package deals or require a minimum commitment.

Are you an occupational therapist or a physical therapist?

5

No. I am a certified NeuroHorizons® and NeuroScanBalance® trainer, a Franklin Method® movement educator, and a neuroathletics trainer. I do not replace a medical evaluation or prescribed therapy; rather, I complement them.

How soon can I get an appointment?

6

Usually within two weeks. I don’t have a waiting list, require a prescription, or need a referral. That’s the advantage of a self-pay service in a region where families currently wait up to a year for therapy slots covered by health insurance.

Do you make house calls?

7

Yes, in Zurich and the surrounding area, and beyond upon request. This is often the better solution, especially for young children and children with complex needs: they tend to behave differently at home than they would in a unfamiliar doctor’s office. More information here

Where exactly is the office?

Hofackerstrasse 75, 8032 Zurich, in District 7 near Klusplatz. Trams 3 and 8, as well as several bus lines, stop in the immediate vicinity. Parking is available in the blue zone.

Can my child with cerebral palsy benefit from
?

9

I work with children who have cerebral palsy, who have suffered a brain hemorrhage, and who have other neurological conditions—always as a complement to medical treatment. What is possible depends on the individual child. I don’t promise results; instead, I work with you to see if there’s any progress.

What languages do I speak?

10

German, English, and Spanish.

Can we work online?

11

Yes. Video sessions work surprisingly well because my approach relies heavily on observation and guidance. They’re ideal for families outside of Zurich and for follow-up appointments between in-person sessions.

What is the difference between occupational therapy
and psychomotor therapy?

12

Occupational therapy and psychomotor therapy usually focus directly on skills and actions. I work one level before that: on the information the brain uses to organize movement. The two are not mutually exclusive—many families combine them, and I’m happy to coordinate with other specialists.
